May and Libby created Princess X on the day they met in fifth grade. That was before Libby and her mother died in a car crash. Now May is 16 and looking at another long, lonely summer in Seattle when she spots a Princess X sticker on the corner of a store window. Suddenly she starts seeing Princess X everywhere, including in a webcomic at IAmPrincessX.com, where the princess story is eerily similar to Libby's. This means that the only person who could have created the comic is May's best friend—Libby—who must still be alive. In her YA debut, Priest offers a tantalizing, page-turner of a mystery that spans real locations in Seattle and dark pockets of the Internet. May is an assertive, capable heroine who finds help from likable and well-realized characters along the way in this fresh and authentic story. Even when the action moves online, Priest keeps the story exciting and approachable without ever resorting to technical jargon. Accompanying illustrations by Ciesemier bring the story found in the webcomic to life and integrate beautifully with May's search for Libby in this utterly satisfying read.

My Thoughts

This book was intriguing and interesting from the start.

I loved how this book captivated me from the start. I was  immediately sucked into something both interesting and fun. The mystery was almost immediately present and had me gripped to it throughout the whole book. Towards the end, I could not get up because I was so glued to the text.  The mystery was very unique, and something that I don't usually see. How the mystery was solved was also something that I also very much enjoyed. I loved the art at the beginning of the chapters and also the comic panels imbedded into the text. The comic panels added some cool background that really made the story.  I really liked the cool mission things that they did and how it led them to the end.

The characters really made the story.

I loved Princess X. She was such a cool concept and the webcomic also made the whole story much more interesting. I loved the unique and creative character we met later in the story. Princess X was strong and smart without being too cocky. I also loved what a good friend she was in the end. I did like May's perspective, but I did find her to be kind of "bleh" , but I did really like how cute and determined she was. Trick was super interesting to me, and he was my second favorite character, only beat by Princess X. I loved how smart and quick-witted he was. I also liked how much of a nerd he was. I very rarely find nerds in book, and it is even more rare to find them done right, this is one of those super rare times. I also liked how creative Trick was in his plans and split second ideas during their missions.
